Of favoritism and frugality - Hand stitching my ripped shoes
This post is long overdue. I should’ve blogged about this 2 months ago. I wanted to believe I have this artsy-fartsy, crafty version of me that I just don’t explore much. Okay, maybe I did 3 years ago. I stopped when I ruined my bestfriend’s Gap shirt. Well, that’s another story.
Anyway, I bought this silver flat shoes at Puregold about 6months ago. And for only P200!
I’ve been using this anywhere I go. I’ve noticed that the seams are starting to get ripped apart!
I thought of going to Mr.Quickie to get it repaired. But I was thinking it might cost me about 60-80 pesos just for 4 inches of stitching I could do myself! So I got my DMC yarn (I also do cross stitching! I picked the color closest to silver.) and marked a stitching guide. I don’t actually trust myself when stitching without guides. Boo me.
And after just about 15 minutes…
When I showed this to my mom she thought that was already there. Ha, mothers. I’m so glad it turned out exactly how I wanted it. I know it’s just few stitches but I have a track record of ruining things I personalize so this one is something I must be proud of! Yey for my favorite flats and to the 80 pesos I did not spend.
I made these palettes in Colour Lovers today. No, i’m not bored. CL’s platform is so cute and user-friendly that you just can’t stop creating them! Anyway, the heart represents Love (as in like in facebook), star for Fave (actually i don’t know it’s difference from Love) and the speech bubble for comments. Well, you can see that almost all of them have perfect zeroes. It’s so hard to please the CL community :p or maybe my palettes don’t blend that well.
I find it hard to name them. Sometimes, I just put in some lyrics or title of the song I’m listening to while doing that particular palette.
And well sometimes, it’s just soooooo random.
The set below was inspired by TBBT Series. I actually started with Shelly’s Purr. I was thinking of naming it Purrfect but then again the colors are not that purrfect. I remembered Sheldon’s Soft Kitty song, thus the current name.
You maybe wondering how the hell ”Howwy as Moist” is included in this set. The actor who played Howard, Simon Helberg, played Moist in NPH’s webisode entitled Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog. If you haven’t seen it, oh my golly, click this link and watch it, quick! So yeah, moist, wet, water, you go figure it out. And as for “Kooty’s Jacket”, I think I remember seeing Raj wearing a jacket with that combination.
And this Love is a disaster set is my favorite. They may look like the same but the first is lighter that the second one. I made the Thanks palette as a, well, Thank You palette because I received lots of notifications from CLpeeps and I can’t reply to every one of them.
So yeah. there. PS. I’m planning to use Sunglass Vue for this blog’s theme :)
So last year, I tweaked my old tumblr account’s theme to something that looks like this:
Unfortunately, when I was trying to install a new theme for this blog, I accidentally installed it in the old one thus automatically replacing the codes. How frustrating. Bad news is, I can’t find the tweaked codes in my laptop. Either it was deleted or I didn’t saved it at all.
Moral of the story: If you forgot to save it, make sure you have a screenshot. *wink*
